waiting for right

Over the past couple months I have garnered a curiosity towards tea. I find items that have stood the test of time to be interesting and of value to learn more about, especially as I connect deeper with the trajectory of my time here on Earth. If one is going to drink tea, it feels aligned with ritual to have a special teacup to share the daily practice with. It is a relationship, sharing in something every day even if only an object, with this in mind, I could wait to begin my tea journey until I found the right teacup. Through the years, a pitfall of mine (though sometimes a gift), is a lack of hesitation towards decisions that should be pondered carefully, the gift of asking the right questions and paying attention for the right answers. But I have been leaning into the power of the tortoise over the hare, maybe waiting for a teacup is a silly place to take notice but it is in the small details of the universe that big things quietly happen. This week, I found my teacup after many months of searching for her (there is feminine energy). A small, dainty cup and saucer white with charming blue vines, birds, flowers, & butterflies painted on, scalloped golden edges. At the antique store when I laid my eyes upon the teacup, my intuition chimed in immediately, that is who you will share your tea ritual with and I was happy I had waited for the right answer to my question. I am sipping a clove and cedar brew from my teacup not letting my mind wander to the thoughts of past mistakes but instead I float to the future, to the dreams that ask to be born, I don’t want the quick answers but instead the ones that roll over in the heart, body, and mind like a pebble flipping in the summer stream. A friend recently said, “you don’t have to be the best, you have to be the only,” this relieved a pressure that had been building inside me. I can be authentically me, showing up the most for myself and this will allow the right answers to come to and through me. If you’re feeling stagnant or wondering when it will be the right time, invite the right questions to come to you then use ritual, intuition, & guidance to wait for what is right on the most authentic level (even if it is something as teeny as the perfect teacup).
